Perris Valley Filipino-American Association, INC was established in 1997 with the purpose of building comraderie within the Filipino-American community in the Inland Empire. Since then, they've evolved as a nonprofit organization providing culturally competent mental and public health advocacy, outreach, resource linkage, and free community wellness programming. In 2024, they were recognized as nonprofit of the year by Assemblyman Dr. Corey Jackson.
Sponsored by the CA Department of Social Services, Stop The Hate is a California statewide initiative created in response of anti-Asian hate crimes happening nationally during the COVID-19 pandemic. Stay posted on our socials for updates on FREE community programming in the Inland Empire region!
In 2024, we focused on skill-building educational workshops partnering with larger organizations for preventing hate incidents. In 2025, we evolved into our arts & cultural programming with "Know History; Know Self" Open Discussion & Open Mic series bridging community dialogue and storytelling through art. Next is "Malayang Pananalita" in honor of Phillippine Independence Day on June 14th, 2025 in Downtown Riverside!

Sponsored by the Center of Disease Control, the COVID-19 program provided wellness initiatives including vaccine clinics, young adult support groups, and updated resources. This initiative helped sponsor PVFAA's first ever Health, Arts, & Culture Festival, "Baryo Fiesta," in honor of Filipino-American History Month. We're bringing it back in 2025 with Stop The Hate!

Sponsored by Riverside County's Behavioral Health Department (RUHS-BH) Cultural Competency Department, we hosted monthly wellness workshops addressing concerns affecting the wellbeing of the AAPI community. Shown are a majority of the workshops I organized and collaborated with fellow community members and partners. We addressed topics such as: intergenerational trauma, LGBTQ+ stigma, immigrant issues, and healing racial tensions.
